I keep hearing about how fast, how great in the woods, how great in the sand etc., etc. these quads are. I don't try to speak for everyone, but where I ride (and let me repeat where I ride) out in the real world nothing beats a Scrambler's combination of power and traction. Scramblers may not be the preferred machine for sanctioned hillclimbs on nice smooth hills, but out on the real hills that are full of bumps, ruts, rocks, mud and leaves, a Scrambler will outclimb ANYTHING and its never in the wrong gear. It'll go through mud that 2wd sports have to go around and then you can put it back in 2wd and keep going fast. I don't feel like I'm just stating an opinion either because I see it every time I ride and those are the reasons my brother sold his Banshee and bought a SC400. Now before anyone thinks Polaris has brainwashed me, let me say that if any company wants to take one of their sport bikes and put a switchable true 4wd system on it, I'd sell my overweight Scrambler pretty quick. Until then I'm ignoring all the hype.

oh no a Honda guy, Whats this he is agreeing with a post on the Polaris forum? :)

Yeh, I like the 4x4 better. I really don't care how fast they go, I know that 50mph on a utility quad is fast enough for me.

Agree Totally. If I did not have a girlfriend who likes to ride not drive I would sell my Sportsman and Get a Scrambler 500

Give Kevin a big "HELL YEAH"!

I'm not into 4x4, all though i would like to have a Scrambler 500, after it went on a big diet. Too much weight. I got My trailblazer stuck and i could barely lift it up to get it off a rut.

To me sport quads suit my riding better than anything.

But i don't see what all the hype is about. Could be that yamaha hasn't made a new quad for years. Cannondale, has fuel injection. The Bomb..i personally don't like them.

You have to admit, the raptor is just awesome! I would kill to have one!

I agree with you. The scrambler is a better quad for the inexperienced non-racer type that likes to go up steep hills really slow....

It also does a really good job of getting stuck in the sand dunes and the weight isn't so bad when you have to lift it off the crest of a dune after being high centered.

Oh, and the suspension is just awesome when ripping through deep whoops....

I think its great that the manufacturers are finally putting R&D and performance into quads just like their other products. No matter what you ride or prefer to ride. We will all benefit from it today and into the future.
Look how far utility quads have come in the last 6, 7 years because of demand and sales. Now its the sport/race quads turn to get improvements and progress from their stagnent existence.
Maybe in 5 yrs those who want one can have a 600 cc 50 hp, individual braking and about 480 lb. Scrambler. Just an example insert your quad and specs to suit your liking.
Hopefully the future brings very good things to our sport. Land issues are another thing.
