but if any1 has an idea to get em to sit flat or maybe have had this problem too and have info would be great also..

I had the same problem here. I took it into my dealer and had it worked on. The problem that he found besides being of poor design is that the hose to the flange was too long. Since the bolt holding the flange on is on the side away from the tank this created a kind of lifting pressure on the bracket pulling the flange away from the crankcase, And if the flange is tightened too much it is possiable to bend it slightly, causing the clamping surface of the flange to bend, making the surface un-flat. This is possiable with the crankcase as well.
I would check your hoses, then check to see if the flange and crankcase surface are flat. If not replace the hose, flange and seals.
Good luck

No the shims are not going to work. If anything filling down the surface to flat is probably your best bet. BUT watch out for the fillings, you don't want them getting into the lines.

what did your dealer do to fix them?
i could file them down... but it would be a bitch with the motor in the frame and ready to go... and **** could get inside the motor...

Btw, have you had any trouble with your big gun slip on. I was about to buy one when a friend told me they had a tendency to rust easy on the inside. And does it give much help to the bottem end of the powerband.
