38mm is to big, go with 34-35mm carb.. Did you get the rcr stage 1 for xmas?

A carb would help, but carbs normally come after other mods like porting, shaving the head and fly wheel.. I would do some other mods before looking at carbs... Thats if you plan on moding further?

If you are going to spend money on a carb then make sure you get a flatside carb. The pwk keihin carb is the best. Dont go any bigger then a 36mm. With a bigger carb then stock like a 34-36 mm flatside the throttle response is much quicker and usually see a 2-3 hp gain. If you have a pipe then the next biggest performance increase is porting.
