Is anyone running the 25" MudRunners on their SP500. In particular the 25x11-10 on the rear and 25x8-12 on the front. I would like to stay with the stock sizes due to width considerations. Goodyear lists the actual sizes and rolling circumferences as slightly different than the stock Tracker P's. Do the 25" MudRunners cause any problems with the 4wd system? Thanks.

I run 26" mudrunners on the back and I love them. My buddies have Blackwaters, and wish they had the Goodyears...they cost more, but I like them much better. Either size will make it a definite mud machine

I have 26 inch Good Year Muddrunners on my 99 Sportsman and my 00 Xplorer.On very hard whoops the fronts would scrape just a little.I took care of that problem with the Polaris rubber spring spacers for only 15 dollars for both fronts,they take a minute apiece to install with no tools.You wont go wrong with the Mudrunners.====Bill

 

I am interested to see if anyone is running 25" MudRunners. I don't want to go to 26" due to them adding approximately 3 inches to the width. Some areas I ride I would not make it through the rock canyons or bridges across creeks.

 

Lo you don't actually like those stock tires that much do you i think they really s#ck especially on holding you back coming down steep stuff. I can't wait to get rid of mine, mine have about 500 miles on them if you are interested in a set. I am going to sell them or I can't wait till they wear out so I can get some blackwaters...

 

Im curious how you arived at that figure of 3" wider? Ive been looking into Mudrunners for my Xpedition, stock size 25-8-12 and 25-11-10. I thought with 26-9-12 and 26-12-10 Mudrunners you would only increase your overall width by about an inch.

 

I have a 99 Sportsman with 26" Mudrunners on all four. I gained about an inch in width and an inch in height. They ride great on the hardpack and are amazing in the mud. I understand your concern about going larger in size than the stock tires, but I wouldn't worry about it. There are more agressive tires out there but and I have seen that their 27" tire is no bigger than my 26" tires. Goodyear is the only one that has true tire size. Like the other guy said they will hit in the front if you hit hard bumps but the spring spacers work and it doesn't affect the ride.

 

Thanks for some actual info on how much width the 26" added. I already have the rubber spacers in the front springs since I run a blade for snow in the winter and I still rub the front tires occasionally when riding hard and that's with the original 25" tires. I've read some reviews on the SP500 and the MR 26" tires and it commented that the overall width was increased to 49" wide. The stock width is 46" wide. No I'm not interested in keeping the stock tires that's why I'm looking at the MudRunners. I want to know if anyone is running the 25" MudRunners on all four wheels and is there any problems with the different aspect ratio that the 25" MudRunners have compared to the stock 25" tires.

 

The Overall width dimension for the 25x11-8 stock tracker P is 10.2" and the Overall width dimension for the 26x12-10 MudRunner is 12.2". That's two inches wider per tire. The overall width would be increased by 2". My mistake. I still not interested in increasing the width of my machine.

Ed, as you know all the mud runner tires were originally developed and tested
on polaris machines. The front
tires are always made smaller than the rears so that the all wheel drive
doesn't kick in during cornering. The
rolling circ is usually used only as a refenence because the data is taken from
3* inflations and loads-- the actual
vehicle loads and inflations are much less. So under normal vehicle loading
the at25x8-12 and at25x11-10 have
acceptable diameter ratio and the tires were tested both here and at
polaris.... by the way I like the at26x9-12
and at26x12-10 combination better for ride and traction-- at least for the
sportsman 500.....
