Trailblazer 400 counterbalance
If you want to take out the counterballance and clean it up/inspect bearing ect... then yes you do need a puller. Its an odd puller. It threads over the waterpump shaft threads and then you apply pressure by turning another nut that is threaded around what the water pump shaft is threaded into. (hard to explain) It shows a picture of it in the manual. Do you have one? Also as you apply pressure you heat up the area of the case which carries the bearing then it just pops right out.
If that all doesn't make sense thats probably because I left out the part where the puller pushes against the edges of the case and pulls from the waterpump shaft. I hope this makes sense.

Im going to see if the dealer will pull it out for me at the sametime. Hopefully it wont cost too much. I understand what your saying about the puller. what about putting it back in? Will it push in? Or do you have to use a tool to put it back in?
Is this a common problem for them? i love this quad I got in Sept. used but it is great. How long do you think the new seals will last? I dont know if the other people that had it (they bought it new) if they serviced it correctly. I got it from a dealer that sells them from the auction.
Let me know
