I don't have any power coming from my battery..need help!!

Well I went riding all day...I ended up in this creek and trying to get over some rocks..well got stuck..so I figured I would put it into four wheel drive...Well the thing is it wouldn't engage into 4x4...so I finally get out of the creek but then on my antifreeze resevoir,,,,,antifreeze started spitting out of the little hole in it..untill it drained my radiator clean...So I finally get it to the truck..start to do some things...I find out that I don't have any electricity...no lights...no starter..nothing..so I hook my buddies battery to my quad and still no juice...so its not the battery...then I start to think..I bet my fan is electric and my quad overheated because of the fan not working which would cause the antifreeze to leak (am I right on that????)...So what is up with my quad...my first guess is the fuse on the battery cable blew??? I just need some help...electrical is my worst area of expertice...so what do you guys think is the problem...I'm just not getting juice from my battery..I need help and info

If you don't have any electricity, you probably did overheat due to the lack of the fan operating.

A couple of things to check for loss of power is dirty/loose cable connections at the battery, then the condition of the ground cable where it connects to the engine (? not sure where on the scrammy 500).

Something else to look at is the circuit breakers may have tripped and/or gone bad - use this diagram to locate the circuit breakers : Scrambler 500 circuit breakers - they are #'s 3 & 4.

Ya, this is a mess...so how do you check if the breakers tripped...and you don't think it would be the fuse off of the red possitive cable?? all I know is it was running all fine..then I got in that creek and bam..no juice from the battery was getting to anything..so I'm ticked and I'm lost.

About the only way I know to start checking where power is lost is to get a voltmeter or test light and start from the battery forward until you find the point that electricity is lost - a good circuit breaker (or fuse) will have electricity on both sides. A good way to determine if it is a ground problem is to use a frame ground instead of the battery ground - if you don't read (see) voltage when grounding the meter (light) to the frame, and you do when it is grounded to the battery, then grounding is the most likely problem.
