predator 500 vs raptor 660
#51
Ok, regardless of what anyone has heard here is the absolute truth about raptor 660 vs Polaris 500. First of all, I own and 05 Raptor 660 and an 05 Predator 500 Troy Lee, both of which are stock except I've gutted the pipes and put a K&N on both. Also, the Troy Lee has the close ratio gears, so I'm not sure how much different the normal predator is in comparison.
In a straight stretch on asphalt, (this eliminates any difference in tire grip), the predator will beat the raptor until about 3rd gear, where the raptor will start to creep up and eventually pass the predator after it shifts into fourth. However, this is mainly the gearing and could probably be changed. However, the trails and Track is where the predator starts to pull ahead. Besides having better suspension than the raptor, the Predator also has a wider and lower stance, which completly outhandles the raptor on the track and except for in long straight stretches, the Predator will almost always beat the raptor with completly equal riders and even when the riders switch, although it is very close. The Predator also does better on the trails as it is geared a lot better, although the raptor excels on narrow trails as it is not nearly as wide. Over all, even after being a die hard yamaha fan my whole life, I would have to say I prefer the predator. But, if you plan on spending some money, the raptor is the way to go, after all it has a lot of things to upgrade, where as the Predator is built on the edge. I hope this helps.

TBSleeper, nice to see you take the high and mighty road, and slip in that well thought out remark in the very next post. The reason the yamaha forum is like that, is cause you guys come in to talk shiz.

ahhh, now i see, the lack of education
the 2007 Outlaw is the same weight as the Raptor 700 at 395 pounds and recived the KTM 525 motor which makes it the fastest accelerating quad you can buy
the 2007.5 Predator gets the KTM 525 motor, which will be even lighter than the outlaw, and even faster
