There is no easy about this........first......make sure you have the o-rings on both sides of the link.......then put on the chain piece, then try to get on the little clip thing(which needs to be pointed back, so it can't come off as the chain goes forward).....

Try using needle nose vice grips, or pliers.......it helps if you have a buddy to help ya.........

yeah well it also just hit me that i can loosen it way up...put the chain on then tighten it.
'
only problem with that is that there is absolutely no hole in the eccentric axle houseing that i can find. the book doesnt help much on this one.

thanks for the reply tho brad.

first things first, make sure the link is seated all the way onto the pins and then take a pair of needle nose and go from the pin to the clip and it should pop right on..
a polaris chain cost $62?thats crazy,i only paid $48 for my d.i.d x ring chain and im my opinon is far better than the stock one..

you can take an extra link piece (dogbone) and stack it ontop of the one you are trying to press on,,,,and then use some vise grips or a c-clamp to press it on

Default cannot get my master link to snap in!!

hmmm...my progress is actualy going backwards, i took the one half of the link out of the chain and now i cant get it back in for anything. That was why i was trying to loosen my chain, but i can't seem to get that done either.

any suggestions?

i dont know why i cant get it back in....it's like it shrunk?

just take a punch or screw driver, put it in the hole thru the sproket, then roll the atv (pushing a little on the punch)till it pops into the hole in the axle carrier. dont worry, its there. i think its usually inline with the grease fitting. then walla! go from there.

oh yeah, dont fergit to loosen the brake caliper bolt.(if your calipers on the rear axle) other wise it the chain wont loosen.
