I said it when Polaris first came out with the Diesel,''its not going to sell'',and as usual,im right again.[lol]
Diesels for quads is just plain BAD news.My 500cc Sportsman would do anything the Diesel Sportsman could, and at the end of the day,I could take the gas powered Sportsman hill climbing, mudding or trail riding if I wanted to.Try that with the stinky, very slow Diesel?
BTW,
Im working on a Diesel powered push lawn mower.====Bill [Yah,Right]

Hey...if you guys wanted something slow and smelly you could have bought a Honda...a bad idea is a bad idea...if Honda made it ...yep,it would still be a bad idea.Being faithfull to a brand shouldn't mean accepting all models as superior.Polaris and Honda,Kawasaki,Cat,and Susuki should listen and develope, and refine models that we want...it would seem simple ...

Face it if it isnt an orbital injection diesel why make it? they pollute 3x worse than a 2 stroke. I hope the Performance polaris ATV under design saves them from total humiliation. I can only see diesel selling in poor countries where refined gasoline is scarce. but then they cant afford that much to have a 4 wheeler in those countries.

Sorry to kill the fun guys, but I was just kidding. Just seeing if we could get somthing up in the air to talk about and see the response. I didn't expect anyone to reply, just having fun.
As far as I know, there is no Diesel Rex 90 or Trail Blazer turbo-diesel. Too bad, I really wanted that Blazer.... hehe
I agree with the other posters that a Diesel Ranger and 6x6 would be a better idea than Diesel Sportsman. With the new Rangers coming out shortly, I wonder what motors they will be running. The 4-wheeled versions should be lower-priced and better handling, and weigh less. Somthing more aimed at the Mule than the 6x6. They will also have a sleeker look, with 2 round headlights instead of 4 square lights. That's not official news, but I am not making it up.
Happy trails, don't kill yourselves on those Diesels!

How dare you Dowden!!! Actually, this was sort of funny. Now if you had started a big rumor about a 700 Sportsman and then reSpam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word Spam wordSpam word ed on the statement, there would be a ton of upset folks around here ready to carve your liver for getting their hopes up.

Dangit Adam!! I already got an ad in the paper to sell my Scrambler 500 I was so enthused. Now I have to see if I can find someone to re-engineer my 500 into a diesel like GM did with the 350cid. How 'bout that mechanical injection? And why not a pull start on a diesel engine?
You must be a pretty successful fisherman, they way you can place that bait.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA>... YEah right.... A Turbo diesel Blazer.. hahahha.. Thats funny Adam..
Although, I was looking at the next engine slated for tear down/rebuild and got to daydreaming on how to shoehorn IT onto the Magnum.... I'd pull against ANYTHING if I could only find a spot to put that Polaris BeltDrive. That engine is a natural gas Caterpillar 3516. About 4800 Cubic Inches, 16 cylinders... hahaha.. Just havent figured out which lift kit im gonna need for the extra weight... I think I'll call Highlifter first thing in the morning and ask them about it...
