If you check out the new review on the atv connection startup page for the tailgate ramp let us know what you think. maybe I am the only one who thinks that it is kind of a stupid idea but who knows right, I don't know about the rest of you but my Polaris 700EFI doesn't fit in the back of my 2004 Dodge Ram short box so unless you have a longbed pickup or a small quad the tailgate ramp is a bad idea. plus it looks like crap in my opinion, sounds like an invention from a lazy person who didn't want to put the atv ramp in and out of the back of his pickup. what do the rest of you think.

 

Without actually seeing one, I would have to say I like the idea. I would question how strong it is at the folding points and how thick is it after it's in the folded position. None of my quads fit fully into my wife's Dakota, but all fit in my Ranger with the gate closed.

 

Looks pretty good to me,,,,,as long as it is locakable.

I hate taking my aluminum ramps to some riding areas just because I feel like they will grow legs and walk away.

 

I took a day and made my ramps.. copied them off an old pair my uncle had.. using square steal tubing.. about 3/4 inch diamter.. These might grow legs.. but they aint' going to wlak that far!!!!

If you are on reasonably flat land, you can set the folded aluminum ramp in front of a tire and drive right up on the ramp without hurting it.

 

I'll tell you what I do so my ramps dont grow legs and dissapear.

After I get my 4x4 out of the truck, i take the ramps and lay one under each front tire on my truck.
Drive over one until its just under your front tires.

Unless they have a tow truck, they are not walking away,

It wont hurt your ramps either.

ok so some of you think it's a good idea but what about the stress on the tailgate straps/hinges. most of you said it was a good idea but what about the fact that most quads won't fit in the back of a truck with the tailgate closed. sure alot of sport quads will fit but what about all the utility owners out there, I got some steel straight ramps last year from harbor freight and recently took them back and swapped them for the tri fold aluminum ramp which is sooooo much lighter and easier to use. what I do when I go to the riding areas is lock the ramps up int he back of my truck. I went to the dollar store and got a 6 foot dog tie-out cable, cut the clip ends off so it's just a loop on each end then wrap it through the ramp and the loop inside my pickup bed then lock it a small master lock. I bought a Triton tilt trailer recently so I haven't even been using the ramps anyways, the trailer is the way to go, esspecially since winter is just about here.

 

Im beginning to think you got it out for this company. Its just a ramp,,,,expensive ramp,,,,but just a ramp.

maybe we could buy you one,,,and let you take a sledgehammer to it
