I think it was about 1977 my brother had a Honda 3 wheeler 110cc. We were younger and it didn't occur to us how dangerous it was to roll it almost just for the fun of it. That thing was a great little machine. We had better reflexes then too.
And then, about the same time my other brother bought a 440 Scorpion Super Stinger sled. That was a big machine for back then. We use to go to the lakes and watch the sleds race on the ice. Polaris was the sled to beat. It seemed like everyone was making sleds!
And I remember my first Enduro bike; a 1976 Kaw KE 125. I was 16 and raised the $ picking corn and other vegies at the local farm. It was $675 brand new. I put a Hooker exhaust, larger shocks, fenders and an enduro head light on it. Good bike too.
Back then we liked the Huskies and Mako (spelling) dirt bikes. We liked the 2 stroke Kaws for the street bikes too. Those Kaws could sure wheelie.
We use to joy ride in big Impalas and Buicks out in the back country. I guess this time of year makes me remember when...

Back in 83 I got my first "enduro" bike. It was a Kawasaki F-7 175. Rotary valve with the carb behind the RH case. I was 12 about to be 13 at the time. It took me almost a full year of throwing newspapers to pay dad back for it. I had the most fun on that particular bike and kept it until I was 18 years old. The CDI went out and I sold it. Thanks for the memories Lukester, those were definitely the good days.

Man ... that brings back memories.
My first street bike was a 72 suzuki 350 . Seemed like everyone had two stroke street bikes, not much for torque, but it could really screeeeem.
I think i paid 850 bucks, for it ...brand new.

'74 500 kaw triple two stroke, 13.0 sec stock qtr mile, 11.60 after mods at 120 mph.
'71 750 kaw triple two stroke, 12.0 sec stock qtr mile, 10.60 after mods at 140 mph.
All this with 70's technology and 70's performance mods. Just think what could happen now.

Still miss my '87 250x, but not enough to lose my 500 scrambler 4x4.

Ok young guys I will go back just a little bit further. In 1964 I bought my first bike a pushrod Honda 90 trail bike, in 1968 I bought a Yamaha DT-1 250 Endoro, in 1969 I bought a new 350 Bridgestone GTR, go look that one up if you want to see a rare bike. My first ATV was a honda 90 3 wheeler with one piece wheels and tires exact vintage unknown. Then there was the Odessy (sp)4 wheel buggy, that was a blast. Paid a lot of my college bills buying and selling old motorcycles. there were a lot of them many memorable many not. At 51 I am now thinking I may need a Predator, Rode one a while back and I can never really go back to my Trail Boss. Wish these toys had been around when I was 20.

I had to think on this one awhile and it brings back good memories. My first bike was in 1979 and it was CB350 Honda got it from a buddy for $20 and got it running.Good thing I did it was all I had to drive for over a year. This old bike got me started in bikes that got me into offroad. But I do love the 70s machines if I didnt I wouldnt still have my old 1972 FLH Harley that I bought in 1987. I still love that bike every time I get a chance to ride it.
