Default 800 EFI, some q's for owners

I am asking this of current owners of the Polaris 800 EFI. I am thinking about returning to Polaris for my next ATV, did they get rid of the obnoctious drive train noise? I had an 04 700 EFI and it was great except for that "rocks in a cement mixer" sound it made it the lower drive train. Also, how much more power and/or speed does the 800 have over the 700? My 700 EFI would run about 55MPH pretty quick and anything over that took a while to get there. It looks like they made some nice improvements in storage on the 800. Are you guys paying MSRP on these machines or are the dealers coming down a bit? believe me, I'm not looking to start a fight, I just would appreciate honesty. thanks folks.

theres a sound when you slow down occasionalliy that sounds like rocks in there, but its not loud, just noticeable, other then that, it dosnt have the high wind noise from like my 500h.o. the power between the 700 and the 800 is unreal for what it is, its acutally about 80 CC's worth of power in the difference, headers, and dual exaust make for a monsterious machine. take a look a jwyles videos for a little preview on the 800. the storage is really nice and adds alot of space you wouldent have thought off, the rear 10x10 inch box is a very nice addition, thats were i put my maintnence kit and my winch accessory bag with my snachblock and everything, and theres still room to spair. the quad really gets up and goes fast and the acceleration wont amaze you but its sometimes frightnening. I paid 8000 bucks for it, but with tax it was 8550 so basicly MSRP. its a awesome quad, you wont regret buying it. however though, it being such a heavy quad, i suggest you get a winch for it, it mounts up easy if you want to do it yourself, and it looks nice. take a look in my gallery if you want some pictures of the winch without a cover and one with it.

I think my 700 EFI was close to 800 lbs, I had a 3000lb winch on it. how much does the 800 weigh? Is there a link to your pics that I'm missing?

To answer those questions for you, yes those wheels and tires come stock. Those are backup lights or you could say work lights since you can turn them on whenever you like. I think there is switch for those lights on the headlight pod.

the wheels come stock on 800's, there made by vision for polaris. there aluminum beadlocks. the new tires are Polaris Xtreme Tires a.k.a. PXT. they were made to replace the carslile (Spelling?) tires since everyone was complaining that they looked wimpey. they perform very nice and all the mags rave about them. yeah those are backup lights, they work real nice before you had to back up by light of your brake light, now you just flip the switch on the head and there ya have it. i'll add some more pictures tonight for you guys.

if you didn't like your 700EFI (which is a fantastic ATV in my opinion as well as many others), what makes you think you'll like the 800? afterall, it's the same ATV just a bigger engine.

i owned a '04 SP700EFI and the tranny clank was no big deal. i have very good hearing and low tollenances.

my local dealer has yet to receive their first 800. i can't wait to see one in person.

if little noises and rattles bother you so much, you shouldn't buy another Polaris.

I liked my 700EFI, I totaled it in a wreck.
