Default New 800 EFI Question

I just picked up a new 800 EFI and have a few questions.

Does polaris sell the cover that goes over the winch that is already cut for the winch or do I have to cut the one that came with the ATV?

Included with my manual and stuff was a small bag with two screws and two washers/spacers that has tha bottom of it cut at a angle. What are these for?

I have only driven it up and down my driveway a few times but it feels great, a big improvement over my 2002 700. It looks so nice and clean I almost don't want to take it out and get it dirty.

Polaris doesn't sell the cutout cover, you have to cutout the cover. The winch kit has a template that shows the dimensions to cut it out, you cut out the template and then put it on the plastic inside, etch it on there and then cut it out....

As far as the screws/washers, not sure, they weren't in my '05 700 EFI. Did you have anything installed from the dealer, maybe he put something in there of parts that were left over...I've got all kinds of leftover parts from installs, most Polaris accessories come shorted....

Default New 800 EFI Question

when u cut it out using the template provided with the winch you will have to cut another inch or so on the right side of the cover so you cant get to the free spool *** on your winch. it may not be that way on the 2500lbs winch mine is a 3000lbs prolly a little bigger. also make sure you run you some short self tapping screws in the bottom of the cover or it will blow off while your riding. i lost mine the first day.

Thats the harware to hook up the battery the dealer must have used some other bolts and spacers to hook it up.

If you want it to look right, you don't cut extra for the free-spool, you don't need it that often...but then again, what I did was cut an extra inch on top because its a pain getting the cover off with the bottom tabs....I put a piece of pipe insulation on the top to cover the hole....could do on the right side if you want to get to the free spool....

Default New 800 EFI Question

I hate it when I work on something and have left over parts when I put it back together.

Might want to check to make sure your battery is bolted down.

Those extra parts are usually to strap that battery down good.
