I have a problem with my 2002 700, when i put it in 2wd mode sometimes it kick right back in 4wd...

My dealer told me it's a on demand system, when in 2wd mode and to much slip is detected to get back in 4wd by itself... and i don't believe him.

I'm not sure, but the off position is supposed to neutralize the system, it should'nt came back alone???

What can i do to solve my problem???

One of my friend have a 2001 500HO and he use for his hubs automatic transmission fluid and his system works perfectly...

And when hot and i reverse for 3-4' , it's work's fine...

I'm having the same problem with mine. The shop I go to explaned it in detail.
1. You try changing the hud oil. (make sure it the proper fluid)
2. If this doesn't work, what happens is the amature becomes magnetized and will hold itself if 4x4. It detects rear wheel slipage and will enguage. So basically it's the same as leaving the switch on.
At this point you have to change the armature plates. Around $45 each. plus fluid, gaskets ect.

Maybe it could happen on mine, it's a 2002 i can leave with that, but my friend have a 2004? 600 and he does the same thing...

I will change my oil first and see what happen, thanks...

If it only engages when it's very cold then try using synthetic ATF (automatic transmission fluid) in your front diff (hub). The oil might be getting a bit too thick this time of year.

The polaris hub oil has a vicosity / pour point of 10w
