Elbow's Next Project. See the Links. Except that he'll find a way to make some innovative improvement to it and then it will be featured at the SEMA Show in Vegas or something. Maybe he'll add 4 smaller digital gauges that show how much air pressure is in each tire. http://www.highlifter.com/ubbthreads...0&fpart=1&vc=1 http://community.webshots.com/album/92430887vpAEqs |

Interesting gauges.....they're alittle big though, there has to be other ones that are smaller and still backlit. Gauges are pretty easy to install electrically....someone come up with some smaller gauges and I'll look into a kit for them..

I'd love to have a temp gauge because by the time the warning light comes on at 230 degrees you have to shut the quad off.
Highlifter sells theirs for $90, which I think is a lot. (probably because they printed their name on it). I don't want to pay that much!!!! I wish another ATV parts supplier would come up with a kit for half that price. They would sell a lot of them. Of course it would have to fit without interfering with the "Lock and Ride" windshield. If there is a light that comes on for the sportsman at 230 degrees, then does that mean there is a sender somewhere already? We should just tap into that and split the signal and send it to a gauge. |

Jeff, I have a Sunpro temp gauge on mine that you can get at Autozone for around $20. They work real well

I just looked at my service manual. There is something called a thermistor installed in the cylinder head. It has 2 wires coming from it. That's where we would tap. The question is that if we tap into those wires and send it to a temp gauge will it work. It may not be the correct kind of sending unit though. How can we know for sure?

BBS were did you hook yours up at?

I have the mechanical gauge. I removed the temp sensor in the side of the head and used the supplied fittings to attach the temp gauge cable. It does away with the dummy light, but there is no need for it now that I can monitor the actual temp.
