Default Low Range Question

On my Explorer 400 is a 2-stroke so not a lot of bottom end so i when i go ditch riding with it i almost always keep it in low range and it seems to do well. My speed ranges from 5mph upto 25 when the wheels are spinning and get to 20 in the clean ditches.
My question is it wines in low so is it harminging it running it in low at higher speeds.
I can't see how it could but i figured i would ask.

Default Low Range Question

I don't think it will hurt it, in fact I have heard that it is good for the machine to occasssionally run it in Low. Good luck!

Default Low Range Question

I do the same with mine quite often. I'll ride even faster than that in low range. Unless you're overrevving the engine, it should't hurt anything. Also gives great throttle response on tight, twisty trails.

Default Low Range Question

As long as you aren't near redline all the time, you're fine. 2 strokes like to run. Think about how they work - the fuel/oil mix lubes the engine, so at higher revs you get more lubrication. Most people also don't realize how much the fuel going through an engine cools it. A 2 stoke makes its power at higher rpms for a reason. Actually, you are lucky you have the low range. My Scrambler 400 doesn't, so you either go everywhere fast, or you're running below the powerband.
