fuel pump location on 05 Sportsman's?

Just wondering, did they change the location of the fuel pumps in 05, notice everyone talking about htem being in the gas tank, were they there on the earlier models too, seems like i've heard of some fuel pump problems on the 05, could it be because of the location.

I know on the 05 EFI's the fuel pump is in the tank and I believe all the 04 and 04.5's are in the tank too.
