how much hub fliud
#2
Assuming you have a pre-04.5 sportsman (external hubs) then you will need somewheres around 3-4 ounces per hub I think. The 8-oz bottle of the Polaris stuff will do about 3 hubs, or I think ATF type F fluid works also.
There is a little drain plug, you are supposed to fill it with the plug in the 4 or 8 o'clock position. So the hub will end up about half full. Not too much, that's bad for the seals in there.
The new (04.5-05) sportsmans, and all the twins have the hub built into the front gearcase.

I'm sorry but it's not at the 4 or 8 o'clock position, its 2 or 10 o'clock. But anyways if you don't want to mess with the turning thing, measure out 4oz's and pour that in. 4oz's in each hub..

i also agree with the 2 or 10 o'clock position. thats what our dealer told us to do. the hub isnt that big and it doesnt seem like there would be enough fluid at the 8 or 4 o'clock, especially if you ride hard or use fourwheel drive quite a bit. better too much than not enough
