Predator Backfire!
#1
Well, I just took my 2003 Polaris Predator 500 for a short spring time ride around the yard (after sitting for a few months).
It ran amazing, this thing is stupidly fast. After my return I desided to rev it hard in neutral (since I coulnt get the rev high in my small yard) just to burn off any carbon and clean out my carbs.
As I let off the rev's the thing backfired and I saw the fire come out the tail pipe. Is my jetting wrong? Or is this normal because I was doing this in neutral? Or is it because of my modifid exaust tip? Also I use 91 Octane level fuel.
Thanks in advace for all your help and input.

These things rev so quick....it is easy to hit the rev limiter.
I understand trying to get the burn the snow mold of the the spark plug, but just be careful. Buddy of mine had to tear into the engine to clean the snow mold out of the combustion chamber....you talking about a messy job!
