Find a Polaris snowmobile with a large engine, perhaps a 800 XCR triple with a low rpm engagement point and you will have the spring that you need.

Has anybody tried the almond 7041566?

Now if Artic Cat springs work in a Polaris clutch you could use the one from a Thundercat or the the new 4 stroke.

ATVing,
I have a problem.I called Rocky Mountain ATVing and they have no listing for my Xplorer pads past a 98 model, and the dealer is telling me that the pads are the same for 99 and 00 models,however,98 models are differant. They were unable to help me.Any suggestions?I also tried the ATV parts depot,no listing there either for a 00 model Xplorer. How did they get a listing for your 00 Sportsman model?==Bill

Bill:
How many miles are you getting out of the break pads? I seem to remember you replacing them a while back, though I could be wrong. Is it a lot of high speed running, then quick stops, or just a lot of steep, break-wearing downhill grades? I'm just wondering when I should be checking mine for excessive wear, before they get too low.

Thanks,

Mike

Cowboy,
I got about 350 miles out of the stock pads.I have 600 miles on the quad now and the rears are allready more then half way down.I used severe duty when I replaced the front pads, they did'nt have anything except Veshra pads for the rear,so I took them.I ride in alot of differant types of terrains,mud/hills/trails/ruts/ect.I really let the EBS do the braking for me when I can.===Bill

Bill, the reason there is a listing for the 00 sportsman is they have hed the same pads since 97-98. The xplorer didn't come out with the concentrec sys. till 99. By the way the 98-00 Sportsman, 99-00 Magnum and 99-00 xplorer all run the same front and rear brake pads. So just order the ones for the Sportsman thats what I do. Try the Moose sintered metal pt#19-3398 they are 33.95 in the Dennis Kirk catolog. I get almost 1000 miles out of them! about 400 out of the severe duty.

BILL, I haven't tried it yet,I need a new clutch cover seal which I will pick up tomorrow and put it back together and try it. I never could do wheelies with it, so we will see what happens and I will let you know.
