Everyone,

Thanks for some great input. Internet Search engines have come along way. But even after searching for "ATV pack", "ATV trunk" etc and sifting through many pages of search results, I never came across some of the websites that were suggested in this thread, such as Tamarack.

Thanks for the mortar box suggestion. It may be just the right accessory for my Remmington SP500. What else would you use for a quad that was designed to have a rambo look?

It appears that the packs from ATVstuff are built with heavier duty zippers. Again, I would avoid packs from ATVgear (made by ATVlogic). At $90 each, my 2 packs are now useless. Your experience may vary, but I'm going with a hard shell this time. They may not be as attractive looking. But, you don't need to take them off the ATV while trailering and if you place a lock on them, they keep your belongings secure.

By the way, I discovered a new search engine, www.google.com, it appears to be much more accurate than altavista.

Hey Guys,

If you want to look at a "GOOD" box that is strong, water & dust proof, attaches in 30 seconds, will not slip around, no drilling racks, lockable ...send me an e-mail and I'll e-mail pics. I couldn't find anything acceptable at a decent price so I designed and built one. All of my buddies have one now and they love 'em. Not interested in mass production but I put together a couple every now and then as a hobby and have 6 ready to go.

The Tamerack box is an excellant choice, however, when I went to the dealership to inspect/purchase one,I could'nt allow myself to pay 219.00 for a ''PLASTIC BOX''.

I purchased a black plastic utility box from Lowes.Go to the truck tool box department, they have a few to choose from.Mine is waterproof, and also locks.I modified mine to sit on my rear rack.I have bolted 2-two inch aluminum brakets on the bottom of the box,and then the whole unit bungies to the rear rack. This box has MORE storage than anything I've seen out there today, and guess what?It costs 35 dollars. My friend Barry was so impressed with mine,he went and bought one for his 00 Magnum, good luck,

Bill, I have heard of others going to Lowe's to get boxes. I have searched high and low at Lowe's to find a box that would look like it would work. Can you tell me anything about the box? Who makes it? Does it have a model name? What are the dimentions? Pictures?

$219.00 for the tamarrack box? Prices are going up? When I got it, it was 150.00 and I got it for $130.00. That was a while ago, however. I can take
the box off my atv in about 1 minute to as it is not bolted on to the atv. Just to rubber snubers.
rangerchet... keep the prices down!

When I called Tamarack a couple of weeks ago the price was around the $150 range.

TexMud,
I just returned from inspecting my storage box, here's what I found.

It is plastic. It is all black. It has a lock on the top.It measures 31x13.Open the top of the box,it will say inside of the top lid that it is made from Detla.I certainly hope this aids in you finding one.You cant go wrong for 35 dollars,
Bill
