Haha, well ok, this is the deal. Bought an 02' TB250 about a year ago and have had problems with it ever since...I used to live in Wisconsin so the elevation was around a couple hundred feet above sea level so there was no need for adjusting anything...but now I live in Arizona in the mountains where currently I'm at 6,000 feet up...and it's ran like complete crap...It's BONE stock, so meaning the air filter still sucks...So when I go up a hill...can be a SMALL hill and it loses power fast...when you stop...HAH! There's no getting up that hill. So what I'm wondering is if it's because I need to rejet it (never have rejetted an ATV before...), or buy an air filter, or both, or what here? I've got a K&N air filter in my Suzuki z400 and that's been fine ever since we've moved here...never even rejetted that...But about the Polaris...if I put a K&N filter would it solve my problems? Any help at all would be MUCH apprecieted!

At that altitude i'm a assuming u should rejet the TB and it never hurt to put a air filter on there either

You would be best to re jet, but see what is in it first. I've always had problems with my blazers and something getting into the main jet, must be the heat. If the main jet is stock and clean maybe look at your clutch. I've gone from 500' to over 7,000' up in Williams and never had to rejet, either way the 250 isn't the most powerful atv in stock form.

yeah never hurt to throw a pipe and clutch kits on one of those 250's that'll give it more spunk

I'm not going to start putting to much money into it either though because I just use it as a guest quad if they dont have there own, but thanks guys! I'll probably rejet it, the Pol. dealer said it doesn't need to be rejetted but...I think he doesn't know haha because everyone says to.

just check to see if the previous owner changed jets. If it is the stock one, look in the owners manual for the elevation changes and jetting or just drop one size on the main and see if it makes a differance. For a couple bucks it may make a new machine for you. I wish I was your guest.

make sure you re-jet before the air filter... bad jetting and a leaner airfilter dont mix well

Put the air filter on it first and you might not have to rejet. You are already rich and a good filter will lean you out. Pop on the filter and go from there.

Hey SuzukiRiderz400. I have 2004 Trailblazers. The manual says the stock jet size is 130 for 0-3000 feet and 40-80 degrees F. 3000-6000 requires a 120 for the same temp. According to the manual, the clutching changes at 6000 feet. It requires only a shift weight change from "G" to "F".
