First damage! x1 CV joint shield

I've had my Scrambler a little over two weeks now. I installed my back rack tonight then I rode for like 10 mins, just easy on a gravel road. After that I pressure washed everything and realized that my left-hand CV Joint shield was missing. I got on http://www.polarisoemparts.com and ordered a replacement. $13 worth of plastic shield held on with two screws is way easier to deal with than a torn CV boot.

I thought about looking to see if there were metal aftermarket replacements but then I decided that they would be likely to bend into the CV boot and shred it themselves. Anybody have any better ideas? (Besides stop hitting things hehe.)

It was bound to happen. I was thinking the same thing about the aluminum ones. Make sure to let me know if you find any beefy ones that look like they won't kill a joint if bent.

These are for a Sportsman but they look pretty damn nice and with the big bend in them, they're going to be really strong.

i had the plastic ones from polaris and replaced them with the stick stopper 2, the picture doesn't do much justice, becasue these things are STURDY if put on correctly.. to make these bend enough to hit my cv boot, i would have to hit a stomp doing about 20+ mph, and i don't know what would really protect the boots from a hit like that. the stopper 2 also have the bottom protection for underneath along with the holes pre-drilled for mud/water drainage. just an idea...
i now have the plastic ones thrown out under the garage collectiing dusts, i been meaning to ebay them, but don't know the price to ask.any ideas? thanks,PB500

New they're $8 a piece, shipping was $5 flat. You could probably get $12 - $15 for them shipped.

I'm in the process of working with the guy from eBay to see about fabbing up some diamondplate guards for Scramblers. I figure if I can give him a design he can run with and make money, I should score a couple pair for the cost of materials. I'll keep ya posted.
