I finally figured out what the strange handling problem with my rig was. I took it out to the woods to see if maybe a front AWD hub was hanging up but it wasn't then, I started thinking. My clutch disengages real early with the heavy springs in it. So it goes into neutral real early. Without the extra engine braking it really upsets the four wheeler. It's like pushing the clutch in going around a sharp curve in a sportscar.

The scrambler modified with give the 400ex a run for it's octane.
And jpstercj7 I hope you mean you can't wait to get a SCRAMBLER. What's the point of paying over 5 grand for the 400ex when it does'nt even have reverse?

scramblers will whoop 400ex arse in straight lines, but unless you are a phenomenol (sp) rider you stand no chance on a track or in the wood against a 400ex...

Cartman308 your right a scrambler will beat a 400ex in a straight line race, my scrambler 400 went head to head against my suzuki sp 200 dual sport bike. The bike has a speedo and my buddie racing next to me said I was doing 70!!!!!

About racing in the woods or track the 400ex will have the advantage. Going into a hard corner, my scrambler has a tendency to tip over.

The additional travel of the Scrambler makes it more than a match for the ex in the woods with a quality rider aboard each.
