New '05 Scrambler 500 Break In
 

I don't want to beat a deadhorse too hard so here goes...For break in on this machine....Let it warm up completely before riding, ride like you ride (no need to baby it), avoid WOT for long periods, short bursts are best, change the oil (and filter) after first tank of gas and again after second tank of gas...done. This seems to be the method after reading some of the posts here and talking shop with others. Does this sound reasonable?

Oil question: The bike came from the factory with P2 synthetic, some have told me I should drain this and run petro based oils for the break in period then go back to the synthetics. Is this really the case. If so, what grade and brand of non-synthetic oil should I run in the Scrambler 500? What oils and filters have worked best for eveyone? I don't race, just trail ride, so I don't want to spend the cash on the expensive stuff if I'll get nothing back.
