Default no power

Riding my pred and it turns off while riding! No power anywhere. Power came back on about two to five minutes later. Checked battery connection, its good, what else should I check? Has this happened to anyone else? Need help as dune season is coming up. Thanks.

Not sure about the Pred but most Polaris ATV's have a circuit breaker. If you have a short somewhere the breaker will do it's thing and shut everything down.

The breaker will useally come back on after a minute or more if it is not a complete dead short.

Look at your wiring harness check for wires shorting out to ground.

Exactly. I don't know about the pred, but dealers have been told that ALL 04-05 400's and 500's have a faulty circuit breaker (even though the actual recall only covers specific vin's). My 400 had the same problem you are experiencing (except the battery wouldn't charge, as well) and it was covered even though I'm a year out of warrantee.

My mistake, the recall only covers Sportsman's and Scrammies. But like I said, it covers ALL 04-05's, not just the VIN's mentioned in the recall notice, which can be seen here.
