MAN I'M LIKE A FATHER WAITING FOR HIS DAUGHTER TO GET HOME FROM A DATE
That's the way I feel, I just gave my brother who is home for a week on his honeymoon my new 2005 500 HO Sportsman for the day. It has 104 miles on it. He is not a ATVer but he is a responsible guy and I know he will be careful. They were really looking forward to this. Hope he brings back in one piece. do you guys ever lend your bikes ?

I never lend out ATV's. Being it is your brother I can understand that , I would probably do the same thing.
Lending ATV's , water craft, snowmobiles, and other motorized toys seems to far to frequently make a bad situation . I don't worry to much about damage to the ATV , but rather an injury to someone . When push comes to shove in an injury incident the vehicle owner is likely to get stuck holding the bag . All this being said , I bet your 4 -wheeler comes back in fine shape . Let us know the ending to this story . Rick Ritter |

I hate to say it but the only problems I ever had with my bikes was when I let other people ride them - family included. A younger bro seized the piston on my 83 250 r and to this day he still claims that he was not riding it very hard- little b_ _ _ _ _ d

I look at it this way, if you lend out your atv, good for you, if it gets damaged, sh!t happens, just as long as the person who is riding it doesnt get hurt...and if you know them to be a responsible person...then I would see no reason into letting someone else ride it

You better wash it up yourself, he is on his honeymoon after all... |

Even if you're very responsible, if something isn't yours, you can develop a bit of a who-cares attitude. Which is why I never let my friends ride my wheelers.
But it being your brother, I'm sure it will be fine. If not, just take back whatever you got him as a wedding gift as collateral . |

I've let my relatives borrow mine before. The rule is, if it breaks, buy the part or have it fixed. I will, however, not loan it to my nephew anymore. He likes to do a little riding with the engine off. Be sure he at least cleans the seat.
