Snowmobiles?

Are polaris Snowmobiles actually the best? have they been tested against other snowmobiles, proving reliability and performance? If not, what other snowmobile would you recommend and how would that perform?

Mine have been good, 4 of my 5 Poo's have over 6K miles, one has over 12K. I've never had to put a wrench on an engine (knock wood).
All sleds have the same preventitve mantenance needs, clutches, bearings, shocks. If you tear into them in the fall, you shouldn't have any suprises in the Winter.

Had a 95 XLT600SP for about 8 years with no troubles whatsoever.
Snowmobiles do not hold their resale value as well as ATV's do.
I bought my sled slightly used for $5295 in 1995
I sold my sled used for $1200 in 2004

I have only owned polaris and had no troubles with any of them. It's not safe to say they're the best. I'd have to give Ski-doo those honors judging from the past 2 years. Arcticcat makes a wicked fast F7 engine, but the suspension isn't as great as others. Polaris is definently a top runner in reliability and will hold its own in performance. I am a believer in the Polaris Edge chasis and always will be. Great for trails or aggresiveness.

I have had 4 polaris sleds, a 95 indy 500, 97 indy sport 440, & two 98 indy 500's (currently own)
bought them all used & never had one problem with any of them, & I just like the way they do
most things on there sleds. It would be hard for me to buy anything else at this time.
