I live off the road about 600' up a hill. No one, or very few, know there is even a house up here let alone an ATV. Well, just put in a new drive and was hauling rock with my '98 Big Bear. I thought, "Gee now people driving by can see my ATV and new road." Well, my new drive was used about 2 AM to wheel my ATV down the road! Never even considered insurance. I self insure quite a bit. Thank God my homeowners should cover it with $1000. deductible. For 30-40- or 50 bucks a year, it would be worth it. They are stealing ATVs as fast as my 13 year old devours hot dogs!

Progressive Insurance is nothing but a bunch of crooks. I called them for insurance. I gave them all the correct info over the phone, the lady gave me a quote of $113 a year. I said fine, and gave her my Visa number. Well, a week went by, and I got a letter from them. They claimed I was trying to decieve them. They said I told them I had a Yamaha street bike, but when they ran the vin number, it showed up as an ATV, and they needed another $100 to insure it. I called them ASAP and totally chewed the broad on the other end out. I told her to give me a refund pronto, and I wouldn't be doing business with them anytime soon.

I think insurance on your 6-7k quad purchase, especially if you still owe on it is a great idea.I pay 180 yearly for my 00 Xplorer and my 98 Honda Recon, both have collision on them to.I did once have a three wheeler stolen back in 1984,and also had a collision claim of 2300 on a 4x4,both times,I was very glad I had the insurance.I personally wont be without insurance,
