oh yeah, the 2006 PXT tires are made out of a different rubber compound thats slightly stiffer and durrable since the PXT's were getting puntured alot

 

I would go with the '05 500, as some have said it has 26" tires & EBS, and you should be able to talk down the price. I bought an '05 SP500 for 5200.00 & '05 SP700 for 6000.00 out the door at two different dealers back in august, it's now '06. Keep shopping around!

the new 450 is 455cc, the old 400 was 425cc,as you can see not the same motor!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the 06. He didn't have the right color in the 05...only green and the wife said no to green. I'm purty excited but the comment on the 25 inch tires concerns me...are these radials or a cheapo bias?

I paid 5866 out the door so I'm content with it. I tried to hit 57xx but none of the dealers that I knew about in IL would deal...even on the 05's. The lowest price I could find on the 05 was 5789. Not much of bargin.

I get to pick it up next weekend. Is their anything should watch for when I pick it up?

 

so many posts and you put the decision in your wife's hands?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-disgusted.gif[/img] it's like a kick in the ba!!$. never mind the tire construction, between you and the machine with fluids, we're talkin' about 900 pounds rolling down the hills with no engine braking. that thing is gonna freewheel through brakes like crazy if you do a lot of trail riding. better have that dealer put the EBS in there for that price. good luck

 

i read on here about batteries going bad to quick,and i will tell you from personal experence ,they are not fullly charged when they leave the dealership,make sure they fullly charge your battery;;; they are a sealed battery the best thing you can do is to make sure it's fullly charged,if in doubt take it home and buy a battery tender charger and do it yourself,those batterys are about 80.00.......wayout, out " lifes good "

 

It wasn't only the color thing. They wanted too much for the 05 when the 06 was so close. I agree that the EBS thing is important when freewheeling down the hill.
