What size 27inch tires for 2006 sp800?
 

Hey everyone, I have a 06 sp800 and Im looking to replace the OE tires with Mudlite XTR's. What sizes would you recommend that I get? I would prefer to get 27's, but I have no knowledge on the widths, etc.

No one is answering because don’t have any choices in width. 27” XTRs come in 9 wide front and 11 wide rear, period. But you DO have a choice in wheel size between 12” and 14”. The best size for you depends on your riding preferences. If you like rocks and mud and a cushier ride you want the 12s. If you prefer better cornering at speed you want the 14s.

I'm running the 27x12s because of my preferred riding terrain, I like to ride fast but I enjoy the challenge of obstacles and slop more. On your machine there’s no point in considering the 26s, you have of room/clearance to run the 27s without modifications and you’ll benefit from the boost in ground clearance. Mud Lites weigh less, they’re cheaper, they ride a little smoother, they may clean out a little better depending on the consistency of the mud. The rubber compound they’re made of is soft and wears out quickly.

589s are heavy, the ride at very slow speed is a little bumpy, they’re a better mud / rock tire and they will last 4x longer than a Mud Lite. They’re some of the toughest, best performing, longest wearing tires I’ve ever ridden.
