Won't idle/torn intake boot
I have a 94 sport 400L that won't idle. Used to fine, but not anymore.
I noticed a rip in the intake boot (carb to engine connects to reed cage), could this seriously affect the idling? Before the boot was torn.... I have to have the idle screw turned all the way in for it to idle, what do i need to look for in order to correct this becuase it doesn't seem like i should have to turn it in all the way. What does the needle clip position do? I put on a different carb(stock) and noticed the needle clip was at the top notch. Thanks for any help or ideas |
Won't idle/torn intake boot
if your intake boot is torn it will sure keep your atv from idling..as for your idle screw have you adjusted your throttle cable????

Won't idle/torn intake boot
Im picking up a new intake boot friday, hopefully that solves some of the problems.
I have tried adjusting the throttle cable a little at a time. Ive adjusted it at the throttle assembly as well at the carb. But i gave up once it idled. (this was with the idle screw turned all the way in to start). |
Won't idle/torn intake boot
Be sure to put the needle clip in the middel notch and to take the jets out of the carb and be sure they are all clear.
