Default 04 Polaris Pred Rear-end skid plate fit (Pro Armor)

I just picked up a pro-armor skid plate for the rear end/brake of my 2004 Polaris Pred 500. The holes all line up and the plate "fits", but the very back end of the plate is too close to the disc and gear for my tastes (basically touching). Is there an easy fix for this? I'd like to go to a 40t rear end, but now I'm worried about fit.

The rear and disc are both stock for now. I plan on getting some thick (1/4 inch-ish) washers or aluminum spacers and enlarging some of the mounting holes (and longer screws) to get a little clearance. Anyone have a photo of what they have for clearance. I have the nerfs, full skid, front bumper, new clutch lever, KN, jets, and full exhaust on order while I heal from my last crash.

The Part number from proarmor is PO42036

I suppose it's possible they came with spacers, but the (wonderful ) directions don't mention them at all...

Thanks!

adding a couple washers is probably your best bet if you dont like how close it is

If it's supposed to fit over the plastic plate, why do I move the chain guard from the (old) plastic plate to the new aluminum one? I called them today and they suggested shimming it about 1/4 inch with steel/aluminum shims and bolts that are 1/4 inch larger. I bought them but haven't tried it yet. Seems like it will work to me. They were very nice on the phone.
