Default Oil Leak from Valve Cover - '04.5 700 EFI

I notice what seems like a small leak from valve cover. I tightened the bolts in pictures slightly. Do you think that will be enough to stop seepage? Or will a new gasket be required? It is a neglible amount and no noticeable oil usuage but concerned it will get worse.

PICTURES

Thoughts?

How loose were the bolts when you tightened them? I'm thinking that if they were really tight already and you tightened them more you may worsen the problem, but I don't know. How many hours on your machine?? I will check to see if mine is leaking as well.

Don't make him anymore concerned sergeant. LOL

sergeant raises good questions related to how loose they were and hours on machine. I'm guessing you have more than less ours. Being an 04.5 I wouldn't be concerned about that leak - see that on machines that old all the time. I bet if you look at others you'll see it too (under hood of cars etc.).

Can't say I would like it as I take care of my ride too. Keep an I on it and maybe the sergeant will report back on his. Oh, nice pictures too.

Just checked mine and saw just the tinyest of discoloration around the same area, but mine only has 35 hours on it. It's a late 04 model.

The bolts didn't seem really loose so I just applied a small amount of pressure to them. I certainly didn't wrench them down. :-)

I think I have just shy of 120 hours/1550 miles and have been using Amsoil in it. I'll just keep an eye on it. Things like this just stand out at me at times. Next thing I have to do is install my T-Bap connector repair kit to get rid of my Code 41/45 errors. Harness kit is supposed to be here tomorrow.

Thanks!
