HELP, Scrambler cylinder, Can i use a E-1 on a E-2?
Hello, I was buying a cylinder the other day. Havnt bought it yet because I seen it and it shows an E-1 on the casting where the reed block is. My castin on my 98 400 scrambler shows an E-2. I noticed it is the exact cylinder, The only thing different is the reed block on the E-1 is a little bit farther away from the cylinder wall itself. I need help, The cylinder is very reasonable for price and i really want to get this wheeler running. Thanks , Brian

Well this cylinder is at a different angle where the reed cage is at. So does this mean it is a 95? I was just searching on this site and found that the 95 cylinders are weaker. Mine is piped, jetted, clutched, and has aftermarket reeds. I take it this cylinder wouldnt be right for me if it is a 95? Thanks for your responses, Brian

HELP, Scrambler cylinder, Can i use a E-1 on a E-2?
My cylinder has a huge gouge in it where the intake port is, It actaully went deep in the cylinder wall. I would like to either get a cylinder for it or a aftermarket 440 kit or whatever they got. I would like to get it going soon but maybe a performance measure should be done while its all apart, it has boyeson rad reeds and cage in it, an aftermarket pipe that I am unsure of what brand it is, it has no stampings on it, any ideas. It is light weight but has stock silence, it is an all in one pipe with no head pipe. I ordered a head for it since mine was junk. This is also clutched yet not sure what brand, jetted for the pipe too. What would you recommend for performace if I get a cylinder or try and fix the one I have, and other mods i should do such as porting, head milling, ect, and how much should i do it like in measurement. Any help would be great, If anyone has a kit I can get for a reasonable price, or has a cylinder I can buy let me know, also am buying a wiseco piston. Thanks again, Brian

Don't buy a new head . The banged up stock head can be remachined to have higher compression for more performance for less than half the cost of a new head .
Try getting the cylinder bored - I wouldn't just toss it in the trash - I bet it can be saved.
Repairing this mess may cost less than you think .
