soggy bottom, boy's
I got my 05 500 HO in the swamp pretty deep. I had it up to about the top of the seat, and when I went to back out, the motor stopped. I got of the bike, it floated up, I hooked to a tree and pulled the machine out. When I got her to dry land I checked the air-box and it was dry. The bike started after a little coaxing with the starter/throttle, and ran fine. Went to put it in gear, and got nothing. I pulled the drain plug on the belt housing and out came about a quart of swamp water. After a little drying I put in the plug, and it ran and drove fine.
Do I need to remove the housing and clean the inside and belt? I checked the oil sump and it was OK. I changed all the fluids last week and greased the shaft, ect. Any advice on other items I should check? Only a Polaris would have made it through some of the obstacles I survived last weekend |

I would take the cover off just to be sure. Clean it good around the clutchs. I would also wd-40 all over the quad up and around the pod.
