wich one is faster auto vinson or auto polaris 500 ho

 

I could beat my buddies on top end, but only by very little (not enough to brag about).

yeah well i heard that the vinson auto is a close race but the vinson still comes out on top and the manuel the vinson wins hands down.

 

If you want to race, why are you lokking at an auto?

 

i dont want to race. we got some long straight trails that we go on and we race down those. but its not racing im worried about i just wanted to know if the auto vinson was underpowered ? which i still dont know?

 

In stock setup they are really close. However, after adding a heelclicker clutch kit to my 500ho, I pull away from the vinson on bottom and mid range, but they are still pretty close on topspeed. You have to remember the 500ho is about 150lbs heavier, 26 inch tires, and with the change in gearing polaris made in 05 the sportsmans aren't as fast as the older sportsmans.

 

Neither the Vinson or SP500 could be considered underpowered. They are the fastest atvs in their class. As ppope mentioned, the sp will be faster or slower depending on the year. He also made a good point about the Vinny being a lot lighter than the 500. I know this is off topic, but they are two atvs made for different purposes. The Vinson points toward the sporty side, while the SP is more orientated toward utility purposes. My .02

 

although this is true elbongo the 500 ho is still a more than capable if not the best trail quad and don't feel its weight, its just a little less sporty for sliding etc. w/the irs.

My buddies '05 HO is right there with me (sp700) to about 40 mph then i start walking away. The 05 has better clutching with 06 being even better still.
