Xplorer 250 4x4 service's?
 

Hello there.

Im in the process for helping a buddy of mine.

Back in 01 he won a Xplorer in a rafel (New)

But I recently have found out that He has never serviced it! Ever!

4 years no service?

The only thing to go into this is gas and oil injection.
I want to get this thing back up to par. His Battery wont charge even though its new. (Magneto?)

But fluids and stuff, I dont know his quad and the manual, LOL.

What are fluids and stuff I should change first?

This all came to my attention cuz the carrier bearing went (Lack of grease) and I just got done replacing it when I asked what service he had done last.

Any suggestions for manuals as well? Factory? Clymer?

The quad has had lack of power latly, No piston slap though. But, I dont know if the spark is bad? Or if it needs oil. (I cant find a dip stick or anything for reference) But I hear some noise in there. Noisy 2 stoke, or maby rod knock.

Just so you know the 250 has no oil other than the injector oil. So nothing to change in the motor. There is tranny oil, front diff oil and rear diff oil. The knocking is primary clutch chatter. This is normal with all Polaris cvt quads. You may also want to get a new belt and air filter. The lack of power may be because of a worn belt, clogged airfilter and by the sounds of it a combination of both. You can hook a dvom to the battery terminal. Get the voltage than start it. See if the voltage goes up, down or stays the same. This will tell you if it is charging or not.

sweet Im gunna run to the local dealer and get right on that then. See if they can give me some amounts.
