I just bought a 300 explorer 4x4 with the two stroke engine, my first quad to use for hunting and utility purposes. I did not get a manual with it so I plan on getting a clymer or something but have some questions. Where would I look to fine the year of this thing as most of the decals on the top panal are missing. Do these have a nicasil or chrome plated cylinder or can they be bored to accept a oversize piston. Things I know it needs so far are a couple tie rod ends,carb cleaned out,front chain and maybee sprockets and possibly a starter as it sounds like hell but turns the engine over well. I dont know if the oil injection works or not as I got it from a middle man and he put premix in it anyway so I might dissconnect and plug the oil lines and just use premix in it. Any thoughts or advise on this stuff is welcome and also where would be a good place to buy parts. Thanks. Oh one more thing who made the engine in these it says japan on it. It reminds me of my 250 ATK as parts came from all over the world.
