04 700 EFI Won't Idle??
I have a 2004 700 EFI with 54 hours on it and it will not idle all of a sudden, unless you apply pressure to the throttle. New plugs and no codes. Any ideas??? Also, the wrench symbol is flashing on the speedometer when you first start it up but then it goes away. It also seems to always have gas in the oil since day one, I change the oil, ride it for an hour, check the oil and it is way over full??????

Are you running a K&N filter by any chance? The wrench symbol is set to remind you of service times. The dealer probably set it at the dealership. You can reset it by going into you diagnostic mode and the instructions should be in you owners manual. |

i just reset my counter on mine as well beacuse the wrench would come on. it was set for 50 hrs and counted down to 0 then the icon comes on. if you dont have your manual we tell you how to do it. if you have the book its on page 44. the idle is set by the factory an dthe dealer needs to adjust it. some people have posted their throttle body was dirty and it idled ruff. cleaned it and it fixed it. but that doesnt explain the gas going in the base.

I have not tried to adjust the ETC on the throttle, however I am running a K&N.

If you run a K&N and over oil it the oil gets on the t-bap sensor which measures barometric pressure and air temperature and if you suck in enough oil it will cause your idle to go down as it gets on the throttle plate and causes it to not fully close....a quick cleanup of the throttle plate and idle will be right back up...
