Creeping
#1
Are these machines suppose to creep at all. Is it normal to have a little bit of creep in Low. When I put it in low it moves very slowly forawd. I just had it in to have the creeping fixed, they said it would fix most of the creeping as if some is normal. I just wanted to hear from other people.

Your secondary clutch is out of alignment.
The dealer has a shim kit (washer) you can buy to fix this.
Older 500's from 2001-04 all did this at some point. I had to fix my 01 and 02 500HO's due to creeping.
I forgot the part number but they do have a fix for this.
Creeping is NOT normal...
Installation of kit is about 30 minutes if you know what your doing.

I'm brining it back to the dealer. They said they are going to put a new belt on it since they already shimmed it. They said it is common for some belts to be from the factory defective. It is still under warranty since there is only 6 hours and 60 miles on it, so I will let them mess with it.

Have the dealer check your front motor mounts for the proper torque.
If these are loose it does not matter if the atv clutch was shimmed, new belt or whatever they come up with it will creep again if the motor mounts are loose.
Just be glad you dont have the old multilink shifter lever system. Not only would your atv creep but it would also lock the atv in gear. Sometimes you had to use the BFH to get the atv out of gear.
I don't miss that old shifter system at all. The new inline is far superior.
Good luck with your dealer!
