Default gorilla winch? wise investment

I have located a ton of gorilla winch products on ebay. Are they worth the investment? Is the warn or ramsey worth the brand name?

I never even got to use mine before it locked up, you can't get the wire out by using the switch or trying to switch to "Free", it's jammed up solid.

Not real about gorilla, but just from hearsay, some are good and some are bad.
I have a milemarker winch,it's beengood to me.4wheelparts.com has them for about $150.THey are usually about $200.This is avery reputable comp. to deal with. They sell 4 wheel drive parts for trucks, but they do have these winches available for atv's.You will have to purchase a warn mounting plate from someone though for you make and model. They bolt right up.Tis is a 2500lb winch by the way.

if you dont get the mounting plate w/ the winch (which most dont come w/it) and i dont mean the cheap one that is a bent piece of metal w/ a hole in it then be ready to pay form 50.00 to 100.00 for a factory fitting mont.

I have 2 gorilla winches. They have worked fine so far. The only thing is that if you play in the mud alot and the winches are under the mud you will have to take them apart every once in a while to clean the mud out or it will be hard to freespool. I have done that 2 times in the past year and so far so good. I did have a contactor fail and they sent me a new one. I got mine on ebay for $69.

I like mine! I bought the 3000 gorilla winch for just over a $100 with the mounting plate off of ebay. It has more power than my warn 2500 did on my 700. The warn would turn my battery light on under a long hard pull, my gorilla has never gave me any issues. I was like you, I hated to pay $350 plus for a winch and was curious on the gorilla myself. I recommend it for the money. Only thing I dont like is it only has 35ft of cable vs my warn having 50ft.

I haven't had any problems with mine. It is hard to free spool at times but, for the price I felt I couldn't go wrong. it's gotten me out of some rough spots. I would buy another If this one goes bad.
