Default More Clutch questions... 1986 TrailBoss 2x4

I have posted before about this clutch - I have looked around trying to find a cheaper one on ebay and been a day late everytime or its a performance... I was reading on here yesterday about pink/white/red springs and whatnot - is there a quick and dirty thing I can do to my clutch with out having it rebuilt? I have checked around and it will be like $250 to have that done.

its symptoms are when you accelerate it moves fine but then it revs to all and wont shift? I bought it like this so I dont actually know what normal is but 5mph top end seems wrong. I was told before its my primary...

Do you think if I just replace the spring and belt it might do the trick?

if its not shifting out most likely the spring or maybe the buttons are broke in the secondary clutch. best thing to do is pull off the cover and take a peak.maybe the belt is toast as well.

I am going to take a look at it hopefully this weekend - what are buttons?

Also, is there a website or something that explains how the clutch works?

You can go to hellclicker. They show you how to take the rear clutch apart. T he ramp or helix rides up & down on the buttons . You will just have to take apart to be able to see how it works. I had to replace mine a while back .. It's not hard

This is the way I checked mine. Jack the atv up . With the clutch cover off ( BE CAREFUL DON'T GET INTO THE CLUTCH ) Set it in low & give it gas & watch the front & rear when the belt starts to climb the front clutch it will start to go down in the rear . If it doesn't go down in the rear it's the buttons.
