2005 Polaris 700 overheating w/ fan on?
OK here is the deal. My buddies 700 was fine the other day. We ran all day, then washed them up and put them away. Today he trys to start it and its dead. We hooked it up to a charger and as soon as we did the fan kicked on with no keys in it! Aslo when we did put the keys in it said high temp or overheated or something like that. We unhooked the fan and re-charged his battery, but everytime we go to hook up the fan, it kicks on without the keys and runs until the battery is dead.
Any ideas???
Thansk in advance!

Mine did the same thing. Cleaned it with an electric power washer, rode it a little while , then put it in the shed. The next day the batt was stone dead. When I hooked the batt charger up the cooling far started running, even with the key in my pocket. I was told the ECU was bad, so I orderd a new one. Charged the batt with it disconnected from the batt cables. When I hooked the cables back up it was fine except for one time when riding it. I turned the motor off and the fan kept running. I cranked it back up and rode some more and it has been fine ever since. The ECU is in my front box, wraped in a wash cloth, in a zip lock bag just in case I need it.

Thats exactly what i did too. I used a power washer to clean ours. We use them all the time. Maybe we should be more careful, lol
