I'm going to give 5-40 synthetic Rotella a try.

Ive had GOOD luck with Amsoil. The Fourtrax is 14yrs old, and runs like new still. No problems in the 650V2, Riding Lawnmower, Silverado, Chevy Trailblazer............

Im curious, what machines failed for you?

I hate oil wars, most brands out there are really good. I have used Amsoil in all of my ATVs and snowmobiles for a long time with no problems.

my polaris 600 triple failed due to poor lubrication and believe it or not my girlfriends moped lol

the four stroke that failed on me was my motorcycle, its a honda 400, it only had 2000 miles on it

Why is this a bad choice?

It is synthetic and it is real close to the 0w-40 that is called for. It says on the bottle it is for gas as well as diesel engines.
