my 99 400 explorer won't start

I have a 400 explorer that won't start...When I hit the starter I get a quick spark and thats it..I put a new ignition coil and spark plug on it and still nothin...does anybody have any idea what could be the problem...THANKS

if its not the coil, most likely the stator area problem. just a guess.
