Guys,
Is there a shop manual out there for the Polaris? The service manual that is given to you with the machine is not what I would call too good. Surely there is someone that is producing a good manual for those of us that do have some sort of mechacical ability. I have built motorcycles and cars for a number of years and I do not need a dealer with a young guy in the back room to tell me that I have to bring in the Polaris to have the oil changed or change the spark plug. Not all of us are mechanical illiterates.
Help please !!!

I just bought a factory service manual for my Trail Blazer and it's great. Over an inch thick with exploded diagrams of every system and part. You can strip the thing down to bare frame with this thing. I found mine on ebay, or you can get them from your dealer I believe. I'm told they run $50 - $80 new. Definitely worth the investment I think.

I ordered a complete service manual that covers all Polaris models. It's a big binder that cost me about $60 with complete diagrams for everything on your quad. It's called
ATV & 6x6 Service Manual.

Seems there are Service Manuals and at varying prices from dealer to dealer. I just bought a "Polaris Service Publication" that covers in heavy detail the 1999 - 2000 Scambler 400 and 500. It looks great. It cost me $34.21 which I believe was a better price than my standard discount.( 10 - 15 %) Part number is PN 9916280.. I would like to know the part number of the binder publication that shows all of the Polaris models. At $60.00 it sounds like the way to go if you own more than one Polaris.

You can go to the Polaris site and down load a 80 page parts manual for free.It has detail part diagrams that show the order of how all the parts fit together.

Thanks for the great web-site for the Polaris parts manual. I did download the manual and it is just what I have been looking for.It shows exactly how everything is put togeather. Now I would like to find a shop manual that will help you take everything apart and what special tools are needed. If you or anyone else runs across this type of a manual put it on the web-site or e-mail me.
Thanks again.
