Guys with Sportsman 500HO. Did the Heel Clicker recomended setup work good, or did something else work better for your machine? I realize every quad's a little different. I like to hear about some people expermenting.

Why did you smoke your belt? The Heelclicker weights just grab the belt tighter.
You can change weights to get the correct rpm and springs to change engagement.
I didn't use any weight to get my rpms up and used stock springs for stock engagement.

as far as smoking a belt, you never should do it if things are used correctly. like using low when in real hard areas. the biggest reason polaris says to use the low is so you keep the belt temp. down. when the clutch is turning slower in high and going slow speeds it doesnt spin fast enough to cause a cooling effect. also if you are working it harder then normal you put extra strain causing the slippage of the belt when theres a greater load on the drive train then the clutch system can handle. basicly you cant stop the clutch on the engine spinning w/ the belt load so the belt slips. when you have it in low the lower gears help to correctly transfer the power to the ground to cause non slipping. hopefully some of this makes sence to some. this is why im not a teacher lol. oh the main reason for the clucth kit is when your using bigger tires and so you dont have use low as much. just my take on it you still arent turning the clutches fast enough to have the cooling effect work so the clutch case still heats up more then its suppose too.
