I think they call them expansion anchors. They do look like boat plugs or bottle stoppers. I only have the backrest since my cooler and gas can won't fit in the box. But I heard they made a bigger box this year. I don't think it would be worth the trouble to make a generic one into a Lock and Ride.

R' My dealer sells the Boat anchor/Bottle Stoppers (Lock and Ride plugs) as a separate unit. I would assume that means thay are available via purepolaris or some other source.
I was looking at them the other day as I would like to make a box to hold my Chain saw or Fence repair equipment, etc. (All kinds of stuff that would tear up a nice box) But then be able to easily take it off for other uses.
I have a L&R bucket rack now, that works ok, but I would like something different. Been thinking about mounting some of those double tangs like you hold a rifle in for the front for a shovel or ???

Yea I am with ya man! I figure I have enough left over hardware, brackets, wood and other things
that I can go REDNECK on when the opportunity avails itself. Like you, why beat up something good
and new for utility work in the woods? I think I would like to save those Rear Boxes for my all day
trail riding events and such.
Funny you mention it, I had bought last year that KOLPIN BUCKET CARGO CARRIER (Double). You can
get those Gun/Bow Grips to fit it as an accessory. I had the MAD-DOG Gun GRIPS from my former AC
that fit for the tublar type racks. So Dad and I Jury-rigged my Grips Fins to fit on this Cargo carrier
went to ACE HARDWARE and just bought 6" long bolts is all I needed with the nuts and washers of course.
A few dollars later now I have these fins that will now hold my BOW, Shovel and things (I'll need to add those
Geek-Pics to my Pic Gallery). I need this setup for work around the Hunting property doing TREE STAND
work and such, nice to have the Dry Wall buckets for hardware, tools, etc. etc.
Cheers,
