2005 Sportsman 400 won't start
My Sportsman 400 won't start. It is getting spark to the plug, the fuel pump is working, I've checked all the lines and hoses. Not getting fuel to the cylinder. When I drain the carb, very little fuel comes out - about 1/2 teaspoon. So, I'm guessing the float is stuck or the inlet needle is stuck. Is that a fair assumption?
Also, how do you remove the throttle and choke cables from the carburetor?
Finally, are the screws that hold the diaphram cover on and the float bowl on loc-tited? They won't budge on this Mikuni 34 and I don't want to strip the screw heads. Anyone have any tips on removing them?

Not necessary to remove cables and diaphram cover. Just remove fuel bowl,check/replace needle and seat, clean pilot and main jet. also check inline filter, replace with visu filter if available(clear with stone filter media),can positively see if fuel flowing properly. Also on soft headed fuel bowl screws,if you have a "baby" pair of channel locks (tool dealers and a some auto stores have em) just grab sideways and break screw loose then remove, then use pliers to put extra torque when tightening. Saves a lot of cussin'. Good luck
